If they are not freed by January 20, he pledges retaliation.
President-elect Donald Trump issued a threat to Hamas if they have not released the hostages before his inauguration on January 20.
The terrorist group took hundreds of hostages into Gazan territory after it attacked Israel in 2023. On his social media site, President Trump said that there will be “ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East” against the perpetrators if there is no resolution before his second tenure as U.S. president begins.
“Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!” he wrote.
This post came in the wake of reports that one of the hostages, American-Israeli Omer Neutra, was confirmed dead, and that Hamas was continuing to hold his body hostage. President Joe Biden issued a statement expressing his condolences and promising to bring all hostages home.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Biden and his administration officials as they seek the release of the hostages still in Hamas’ custody.
- For wisdom for President-elect Trump and his nominees as they prepare to transition into office.
